Taking her in his arms, he pulled her as close to himself that was physically possible. She grabbed him around just as rough, though her weak arms only sustaining the force for a few moments. But it didn’t matter, the pure nostalgia of the moment zapped her energy, and there was nothing more than him.

They stood forever in that spot in the airport, he, holding her tight, and she, crying against his chest and shaking. He looked down at his love, an upset and concerned look on his face. He took his hand, and brought her chin up, and looked deeply into her sweet, shining blue eyes.

“Amie…Amie, what is it?” He cooed. “Why are you crying, sweet?”

As he softly spoke to her, a weak smile broke her tear-stricken face.

“Matt.” She grinned, still crying, and tasted his name on her tongue and lips.

“Matthew. Matt, I love you.” She broke into wild tears again, and pushed her face back into his chest. He smiled softy at her reply, and understanding, took her head, and stroked it gently, whispering softly to her.

“Shh…don’t cry love, it’s alright. Nothing will pull us apart from now on. Now I can be by your side every moment.”

Amie nodded, clutching at the back of his jacket in an attempt to pull herself back together. She mumbled something against him, but it wasn’t audible in the noisy terminal.

“What was that?” Matt asked, pulling away just enough to see her face.

“I said let’s get out of the way. We’re creating traffic and causing a scene.” She said with a smile, and chuckled, in which he returned her laugh. In truth, she really didn’t care if they made a scene. That moment she would remember forever. The first time she saw him in real life. Some might have thought that their relationship without even meeting face-to-face was low or even taboo, but they had known each other for years, and had exposed most all of their hearts to each other.

They moved off into seats that looked over the runways. Matt sat down, and Amie, still in his arms, sat in his lap, and he cradled her as she laid her head on his shoulder. A warm red sunset cast a magical glow over them. He stroked her back and smelled the sweet scent radiating from her brown locks.

“Are you tired? Hungry?” He asked in an almost whisper after a while.

“I just woke up. There isn’t much to do on a plain for a day but read, sleep and eat…yet I’m still hungry. How about we get breakfast…or…dinner in your case, after I get my suitcase?” She smiled, for should couldn’t help not to smile just by looking at him.

“Alright.” He said with a smile, and she got out of his lap, but clasped his hand tight in hers.

When they had taken her bags they headed for the parking garage, still holding hand-in-hand. As they stepped out of the building and into the lot, Amie let out a yelp and dropped her bag.

“What is it?!” Matt turned to her, dropping her bags he was carrying.

Looking up, she started laughing, pulling her arms around herself, and shivering in her T-shirt.

“I forgot. You’re in the middle of winter, and I didn’t bring a jacket with me on the plane.”

Matt started to laugh too, and stripped off his jacket, and put it around her shoulders.

“Silly.  I specifically remember telling you to bring one.”

“And I did!” She protested. “It’s just in my suitcase! I didn’t feel like bringing a winter coat on a plane when it’s 95, no matter where I’m headed. Besides, you should have noticed I’m only wearing a T-shirt.”

He took up her bags again, and even the one she had been carrying.

“As if I could have really realized that little detail when I was blinded with your beauty. Silly.” He repeated dryly, with a hint of warmth. Amie blushed, brought his jacket closer to her, and rubbed her arms.

“Come on, let’s hurry and get out of the cold. I’ll warm you up in the car.” She joked with a smile and chuckled.

“Yeah easy for you to say, I’m carrying all your bags, if you hadn’t noticed…”

Amie jerked one of the smaller bags out of his hands, and laughed, running forward in the direction he was heading, looked back, and grinned, rocking from side to side in anticipation. Matt laughed as well, and caught up.

“You’re so helpful.” He said with heavy sarcasm, pulling on a straight face.

“Oh Yah? Well, your accent is funny.” She said, sticking out her tongue spitefully.

That broke his straight face and he laughed again, leading her to the car.

He closed the trunk with a ‘Slam!’ on her bags, and took hold of Amie’s arms that were wrapped around his waist like a belt. He walked around to the right side of the car, and she followed in his footsteps.

“What are you doing? Passenger is the left side.”

“I’m not letting you go.” She said stubbornly, and he sighed, laughing softly.

As he opened the door, she backed into the car, still holding him, and pulled him in, scooting over to the left seat, holding him awkwardly as he got in.

“You weirdo.” He said rolling his eyes, and closed the door.

“Nya, takes one to love one.” She replied, taking one of her hands and putting on her seatbelt. As he finished putting his on, she laid her head once again on his shoulder, and he stuck the key in the ignition and turned on the heater.

“There we go. Give it a few minutes.” Matt told her, and brought up a hand to pull a stray stand of hair out of her face. Amie looked up into his knowing blue eyes, and suddenly stole a kiss. He closed his eyes slowly, and held her face gently, giving back a kiss, tasting her sweet pink lips. She then pulled away, looked at him lovingly, and then snickered.

“More where that came from if you get me some food.”

Matt looked at her a bit taken aback at the sudden change of mood, and then laughed.

“Well THAT was weird.” Amie said bluntly, taking her head off of Matt’s shoulder, still holding his waist.

“What??” Matt exclaimed confused.

“You were driving on the wrong side of the street the whole time. And so was everyone else. You could have killed us. If well, you know, had everyone on the road been sane. You crazy Australians…”

Matt burst out laughing. “You’re the crazy ones. Driving on the left side of the road is completely normal. Americans are the only ones that do otherwise!!” He chuckled, turning off the car, as they parked in front of a small apartment complex.

She undid her seatbelt and scooted him against the door, waiting for him to get out. He did, and stood awkwardly again as he helped her get out while still being attached to his side. He brought her suitcase as she carried the smaller bags up, and dropped it to unlock and open a room on the third floor.

Unable to make it through the door together, Amie finally dislodged from his side, and ran into the dark apartment with her bags. A ‘thump’ could be heard as he walked in with the heavy suitcase and closed the door behind him. She came running back, and looked around, then ran to the left into the small kitchen.

“This reminds me of Sis’ apartment, only bigger.” Amie commented as she opened the fridge and Matt turned on the kitchen light. “Eww…gross. You better not make me eat your disgusting Aussie-vegetable-salt-yeast-barf-jam.”

Matt came up behind her as she scavenged through his fridge, and growled. “Don’t make fun of my Vegemite.”

“Fine, I won’t make fun of your precious Salty-vege-yucky-spread.” Amie said indifferently as she took out banana, closed the door, and peeled it.

“You gonna eat something?” She asked, walking into his open arms, and taking a bite of banana.

“No. All the excitement has made me lost my appetite.” He told her, rubbing her back, and looking down over her. “You shouldn’t tease and eat like that. It’s really very dirty.” He said with a raised eyebrow. She looked up at him innocently, her mouth wrapped around the banana, and then bit it off, chewed and swallowed. “What ever are you thinking? I think you’re the perverted one here.” Amie accused.

Matt chuckled lightly at her, and pulled her close, and lovingly embraced her. “Amie…my sweet Amie…finally I can hold you in my arms…” He said quietly half to himself.

She finished her banana, and put the peel carelessly on the counter, and put her arms around his neck, bringing up a hand to play with his short brown hair. He smiled, and she smiled back, and leading against him as he leaned against the counter, and on the tips of her toes, pecked his nose, and giggled. Matt gave her a warm smile, and pulled away slightly, and took her by the arm, leading her out of the kitchen, turned off the lights, and led her to the couch in the living room, and sat her down on his lap. She held him as he cradled her once more in his embrace.

In that silent, dark, peaceful moment, she could hear their song playing in the depths of her mind’s ear, and it sent a warm feeling from her heart to the rest of her body.

Someday, someday
Look towards the sky, babe
Someday, someday
There’s no need to cry, babe
I know that you’re
Always what I want, babe
I will be the one babe

“Matthew.” Amie breathed gently onto his cheek.

“Hmm?” He answered just as quietly.

“You know that I love you, right?”

“Of course I do.” He said calmly.

“And that I want to be yours forever?”

“Yes, love.” He whispered lovingly, nuzzling her cheek with his.

“Because I’ll make you happier than anyone. I promise.”

“All I want is for you to be happy.” His lips curled in a smile against her cheek and he kissed it.

“I am, don’t worry.” Amie smiled and kissed his cheek back. He growled playfully in her ear, and gently eased her forward onto him as he leaned down to lay on the couch. She snuggled up into his arms, and put her hands gently on his chest.

“A bit sleepy?” Matt asked as she yawned, and laid her head on his chest.

“Just a little…” Amie mumbled between another small yawn.

He chuckled and kissed the top of her head. “Sleep. I’ll be right here when you wake up.”

“Promise?”

“Promise.” He said quietly and gently began rubbing her back again until her eyes slowly closed.
A hopeful dream in story-form. I can't even remember why I started writing this. I was inspired, but there really isn't even a plot or anything...

Well I spent 4 hours on it so I might as well post it and show my friends. Meh, use your brain for whatever mistakes you find, and italics on where you think they should be. I'm too tired to edit it. It's 2:30am. I'm tired. Goodnight.

P.S. Yeah ok the picture is a bit more than a year old. I wanted to have a picture for this story, so I decided to pick some scrap from years ago that would ontherwise never show up on my DA ever. xDD

This is all dedicated to my lovely :iconmattdyet: Matt-Matt. <3
