Hearts of the Moon: Chapter 7

Time seemed to move quickly as I stood on the balcony and watched the countryside darken and light again as the clouds swam across the afternoon sky. Time was no longer of much interest to me. The next thing I knew, an intoxicating voice fell into my ears as a firm arm wrapped around my waist. I jumped in surprise, and in disgust.

“It seems we have some things to discuss. Women in your country must be running the place wild, if it’s common for them to actually help rule the place.” I could hear the smirk in his voice. I grabbed at his arm and tore it from me, and turned a cold gaze to him.

“And the lack of their advice must be the reason why your country is suffering.” I spat, and his face grew red. He drew a hand and slapped me across the face. It took all the strength I had to not reach for my face and start to cry. I wouldn’t allow myself to look weak in front of him.

“I thought I told you to hold your tongue.” He snarled back. “Now listen, and listen good. You will be my wife, and you will give me my heir. That is all I need you for. That’s all you are good for, other than for my own pleasure.” At that he slid his hand up my burning cheek and ran his fingers through my hair. His voice had turned rich and smooth like honey, but the words added a distasteful spice.

Losing myself in one hypnotized moment, I felt his hand slide through my hair as I watched his grin grow. Then snapping back to reality, I ripped his hand away from my face, and pushed past him into the bedroom where I couldn’t be cornered on a small balcony.

I could hear his footsteps follow me, and when I finally spun around to him, he had a mischievous smile on.

“I know you can’t refuse me. My charm and good looks are widely known…”

“Oh are they? Because when I see you, all I see is the face of a hideous rat!” I yelled, tears almost coming to my eyes. I couldn’t stand being in the same room with him.

“Mm, you’re so beautiful when you get fired up and full of emotion, my little, delicate flower…” Kael reached for me, but I hit his hand back in a swipe.

“I’m not your anything!!” I cried back, backing up, but hitting a wall. He took a step forward, and with his long legs, it was enough to pin me against the wall.

“Wrong, princess. You are my bride-to-be. So start acting like one, because whatever you say, or plan, or hope and wish for isn’t going to come true. Face it. This is your destiny, and you won’t be able to change it. You have been kidnapped, and you are the hostage as well as the key. The ball is in my court, and there is nothing you or your country can even try to do about it. There is no way for you to win, so forget about it, and give in.”

The sudden seriousness caught me off guard. And on top of that, he was right. A gaping whole tore at my conscience. There was nothing I could do. The one thing, if my country went to war against Alkainia and somehow won, I would still have already been married off to Kael, and the marriage would be completely legal. I could feel my limbs grow weak, and then his arms were around me. But I was too stripped of any hope to care.

“And should you rebel after you birth my son, or your country try to claim you,” he continued, “the people of Alkainia shall be quite upset that their beautiful queen, who had been deeply in love with her husband,” he took his hand and slid it down my neck, “met with a very dreadful pack of ruthless highwaymen who, most unfortunately, scarred her perfect chest with a fatal dagger-wound.” Sliding his index finger down between my breasts, she poked me hard against the wall, and grinned devilishly.

I gulped, frightened, and my face must had been as pale as snow. “You wouldn’t…” I said in a soft horror.

“And why wouldn’t I? Our families will be joined after the marriage, so everything will belong to me after that, and I won’t need you anymore, except for giving me an heir. Promise you won’t try to rebel before then, okay dear? Not that you are my only choice, for once you are dead I can take a new wife, but I’m just so curious of what a half Nortephian and half Xeven prince would look like. Very handsome, no doubt. With very beautiful eyes…” Kael groped my breast with his hand, and dug his dark green eyes into mine, and drew his face closer, and places his lips upon mine.

As soon as I struggled to move, he forcefully pinned me against the wall, harshly grabbed my breast in a firm grip, and dug his tongue into my mouth with a fervent hunger. I screamed against his mouth, but it was too muffled. After a satisfying moment for him, he let me go. I gasped for breath as I pulled from the wall quickly, and stumbled past him, wiping his taste from my mouth.

Kael turned to me, smirking. “You know, if you just gave in, it wouldn’t be so horrible. I’m very well educated in how to pleasure a woman in the most satisfying ways…”

I turned to glare at him in a sort of helpless way. “You’re despicable!”

His grin turned into a frown at the word. “Yes, well, I suppose you can do it the hard way. I also enjoy watching you struggle beneath me, it turns me on very much. Have you heard of the term ‘tough love’, princess?” Kael asked with amusement, raised his had, and slapped his hand hard across my cheek again. I fell to the floor in pain, and held my cheek, and felt hot tears fall down my cheek.

“Because it’s what’s coming for you if you don’t loosen up a bit.” He spat, and headed for the bathrooms that connected to the room. “I’m about to take a shower, and you should join me.” He chuckled. “I can still smell the blood on your skin. It’s disgusting.”

With that he disappeared from sight as he stepped into the bathroom portion where there was a large bathtub waiting. I shivered off the thought of him, and touched my tender stomach as I walked out onto the balcony once more where I could be alone to prepare myself for a dreadful event. The skin was starting to feel better, as the daily medication was working the way it should be.

I remembered the sweet smile of Darion’s lovely face, and missed him with an aching pain in my stomach and heart. If he was upset about the first time Kael had used me, I couldn’t bare telling him about this. I knew now there was no way to escape it. This was my fate. And even if I endured his beating, Kael will still continue to take my innocence away, even though it was very improper for him to, while still unmarried.

“Lunette…come in here please…” Kael called from the next room, and I turned unwillingly into the bedroom once more, and walked slowly to the bathroom, where Kael was sitting next to the full bath with a towel tied around his waist. He got up, and walked towards me. Inside, I could feel my heart drop into my stomach.

“Let me help you with those bothersome clothes…” He cooed, about to place his hands on my shoulders.

“I can do this by myself.” I said quickly, stepping back.

He looked shocked, but then quickly smiled, and sat back down next to the bath. “All right, then.”

I turned my back to him, and reluctantly undid my bodice, and slid it as well as the dress off of my shoulders. Shyly turning back, I caught the amused smile on his face, and felt his eyes look all over me with a grim and sickly knowledge of what was about to happen.

Without looking at him, I walked just past him, and stepped into the hot bath, and gasped slightly, but held most of it in as I sat down in the bath. The water was scorching hot. “Too hot for you?” He asked, turning in his seat. “Sorry, it’s just that I don’t like the water getting cool before I’m finished with my baths.” He explained, stood, and removed his towel. I looked away, and wasn’t sure if I was blushing, because my whole body as well as my face was burning.

Kael chuckled as he eased himself into the water on top of me. I closed my eyes in disgust, but couldn’t help but feel him as kneeled over me. “Don’t be shy…” He whispered in his dark and velvet voice. “I won’t hurt you…that is, if you don’t fight back.”

I clenched my teeth, not only keeping from whimpering about the water, but just the thought of being in this bath with him made me absolutely tense and afraid. Would I ever get a moment’s peace? Or was the rest of my life going to be like this? What ever life I had left, would I be happy about anything, or always spend my waking moments afraid of this horrible king-to-be?

Feeling something slide against my inner leg made me gasp and jump, but just as soon as I did, his hand was pushing me back down by the shoulder, and sliding up and down my waist. I gritted my teeth, and closed my eyes tight.

“That’s right, just relax…I’m sure you’ll find the easy way about this much more enjoyable when you get used to it. After all, you’ll have to. It’s the only thing required of you now.” Kael cooed, matter-of-factly.

The way he spoke to me made me want to tear him apart. I would swear now. I would avenge Carlisle, and kill Kael with my own hands for what he had done to me and Carlisle, and for his country too. Once I escaped, if….IF I escaped, we would have to stop him from leading his country the way he did. It wasn’t acceptable. Too many suffered because of him.

Then I felt with sickly horror him sliding himself into me with a soft moan into my ear, and I turned my hot face away, which he grabbed and pulled it back to face him. He pressed his lips against mine, forcing an unwelcome passage once again.

Hahah! Finally! The long awaited chapter 7! I think I may actually finish this story! Whee!

Okay so um, just to like, reflect on this chapter, we see now that Lunette finally understands that she can't win, because Kael has thought of everything. So...this kind of just sucks for her. Oh well. We'll have someone come and rescue her, right? Maybe? HAH you don't know!

Again, I'm really sorry, but I can't but mature content block on, because then my friends who don't have an account can't read it.
